BEAR Scotland are responsible for managing and maintaining some of the country’s most important roads. We make sure the carriageways are safe and sound, but there’s a lot more to what we do than that. We also take care of grass cutting and weed control, road lighting and traffic signal maintenance, and we keep the signs clean to make sure you’ll always know where you’re going.
We’re committed to safety, so we undertake structural inspections of roads and bridges, gritting and ploughing in winter, emptying gullies and repairing safety barriers, and we approve the movements of abnormal loads around the roads network.
BEAR is always working hard to create a sustainable, environmentally friendly infrastructure for the future. We also design and supervise improvements to carriageways and authorise the opening of new roads.
We’re dedicated to providing a first-rate service and so we’re always busy, taking care of everything so you can get from A to B as safely and smoothly as possible.
